As Matisse got older he had difficulty painting while combating cancer and often worked at his bed.
So he started cutting with painted paper and scissors.
And created, Icarus.

“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. Don’t settle.”

That's what fascinates me-
to make something I can never be sure of and
no one else can either
that's the way art is you keep turning around and it will go on forever
there's no way of looking at a work of art by itself
it's not self evident it needs a history
it's a part of a whole man's life.
